Meg Carrasco

Meg’s focuses at the COVE include ensuring all patients receive gold standard care in the ICU, are transferred to specialty services with ease, training technicians on advanced procedures, and direct hands-on care of critically ill patients. Meg started in veterinary medicine in 2007 as an emergency veterinary assistant. After finishing her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Old Dominion University in 2010, she attended Blue Ridge Community College’s Veterinary Technician program. After graduating in 2013 and passing the VTNE, she worked for a board certified veterinary surgeon. After missing a fast paced environment, she came back to ER and critical care medicine and has worked directly with specialists at the COVE since 2014. Her areas of interest include sepsis, shock, and educating and empowering support staff.
