As an emergency and specialty veterinary hospital, our primary purpose is to deliver advanced care for pets and their families whenever it is needed.
A sweet 11-year-old cat named Orange is one of those pets.
Orange was brought to The COVE’s emergency department when her owner noticed that she had stopped eating and was chronically sluggish. Following a comprehensive evaluation, she was diagnosed with feline stomatitis, a common and painful inflammation of a cat’s mouth and gums.
In most cases, cats respond best to tooth extractions to treat the dental disease instead of a long-term medicinal treatment. Dr. Colleen Fox and our dentistry team recommended that tooth extraction was indeed the best course of treatment; Orange had nine teeth removed.
Orange had a follow-up appointment in August and is doing great! She has gained several pounds and looks fantastic. Her mom, Stephanie Facenda, left a lovely review on our website, and we are proud to share her testimonial with you:
“A while back I brought one of my catch-and-release cats to your establishment for treatment; she needed massive teeth removal. I did not think she was going to live since she had lost so much weight and was lethargic. Dr. Fox and her team turned that baby’s life completely around. Today, Orange is in excellent health and probably will have to go on a diet one day. I just want everyone to know how much I appreciate all the wonderful care that was given to her and the kindness that was given to me. I would sometimes come at 3 a.m. to pick up her medicine, and everyone at The COVE knew me. So I want to mention a few names, and I hope I didn’t miss anyone: Dr. Fox, Megan, Kelly, Kelsie, and Heather and anyone else I had the honor to meet. Thank you so very much for the kindness and professionalism, and most of all the “caring from the heart” while helping one of mine. God bless all of you for choosing the profession you are in. We can’t thank you enough.”
Thank you, Stephanie! We are humbled by your wonderfully kind words and support. We are honored to be part of Orange’s health care team. Best wishes to you and your family.
