SURGERY
While all veterinarians are trained to perform surgery, only a fraction of them go on to pursue advanced specialty training in veterinary surgery. If your pet requires surgery—especially if it’s a complex procedure—there’s a tremendous advantage in having it performed by someone with the depth of experience of a specialist.
The COVE’s veterinary surgical specialist, Jeff T. Stallings, DVM, DACVS, is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons, the specialty board that sets the standards for veterinary surgery. He remains on the leading edge of his profession through ongoing professional education and the techniques he hones as one of this region’s busiest—and most respected—veterinary surgical specialists.

Your pet’s comfort and safety are our top priorities
To ensure your pet’s comfort and safety before, during and after surgery, the proper administration and careful monitoring of anesthesia is an integral part of our standard of care. We use different types of anesthesia and analgesia including local, nerve and epidurals, all dependent on the pet and procedure. We also develop an individualized pain management protocol for your pet for while they’re hospitalized and when they go home.
Please let us know if we can answer any questions you have at the time of your pet’s examination and consultation.
