Safety Guidelines and Updates in Suffolk, VA
SAFETY GUIDELINES & UPDATES AS OF FEBRUARY 2024
As we continue to adapt to the ever-changing COVID-19 situation at hand, we want to assure you that we are open.
We are now providing a hybrid of in person and curbside service for emergencies and appointments in order to maintain the highest level of safety for you and Team COVE.
We are allowing the pet parents* to accompany their pets into the hospital for a specific period of their pet's visit. This may vary amongst our services and our Client Liaisons will guide you respectively.
*It is imperative that you notify our Team if you are COVID+ and/or recently exposed to COVID+ person BEFORE entering our facility.
Masks are optional for all HEALTHY team members and clients inside our facility. If you are unwell, previous guidelines listed above will apply.
Triaging ER Cases
Our goal is to continue to see patients as expeditiously as possible. Safety precautions, limited staffing, and an increased caseload will result in longer than usual wait times. As always, cases are seen in order of severity, with the most critical taking priority.
For more details, please view our triage handout.
General Safety Guidelines
If your pet is having an emergency, CALL US at (757) 935-9111 prior to arriving, and if possible, complete the patient/client information sheet so we may be best prepared for your visit.
It is imperative that prior to leaving home, you review the questions below:
- Are you or is anyone with you displaying fever, cough, or shortness of breath?
- Have you or has anyone with you traveled internationally in the last 14 days or to an area in the United States with high incidence of COVID-19?
- Have you or has anyone with you tested positive for COVID-19?
If the answer is yes to any of the above, REMAIN at home and do not visit the clinic. We ask you to find someone else to bring your pet in to receive care.
Masks are optional for all HEALTHY team members and clients inside our facility. If you are unwell, previous guidelines listed above will apply.
We have parking available adjacent to our front door and a 5-minute drop off spot immediately in front of our entrance.
Call (757) 935-9111 and provide your parking spot # and/or make/model/color of your vehicle.
A member of our Team will guide you on next steps from there.
Please note that patients experiencing life-threatening injuries and/or disease processes will be seen first. Our additional safety precautions, as well as our increased caseload, may impact your wait time. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we all do our part to help minimize the spread of COVID-19 whilst providing essential veterinary care and service 24/7/365.
